Should I do a master's degree or take the job offer I have?

Decision framework instead of opinions: Take the job when: the offer is at a company where you'll learn fast, your target career values skill over credentials (software, product, most of tech), or the MS would need loans you'd be repaying into your thirties. Two years of real experience beats a generic master's in most tech hiring, full stop. Take the MS when: your target role has a hard credential gate (research, ML research labs, some foreign job markets where visas favor degrees), the program is genuinely top-tier in your specialty, or it's your practical immigration path to a market you want. The uncomfortable truth: many people choose an MS as an expensive way to delay deciding what they want. If that resonates even slightly, take the job — you can do a master's at 26 with clarity and possibly employer funding; you can't easily buy back two years of compounding salary and experience. Also: the job offer expires, admission can often be deferred a year. That asymmetry is itself information.
