Should I quit my job to work on my startup full-time?

Side project making ~₹25k/month after a year of nights and weekends. Job pays well but I'm perpetually exhausted and progress is crawling. When is the leap justified?

₹25k/month after a year of part-time effort is a genuinely strong signal — most side projects never earn ₹1. Now make the decision with math instead of exhaustion: The quit checklist (want 3 of 4): 1. Runway: 12 months of personal expenses saved, calculated against your REAL burn, treating startup revenue as bonus not budget. 2. Trajectory: revenue growing month-over-month without you pushing harder each month. Growth while you're part-time implies pull, not just push. 3. A tested hypothesis for full-time: name specifically what 40 extra hours/week unlocks (ship X, close Y partnership, halve support backlog). 'More time = more growth' is hope, not a plan. 4. Recoverability: honestly — could you re-enter employment in 12–18 months if this dies? In most tech careers the answer is yes, which makes the real risk smaller than it feels at 2am. Before quitting, try the intermediate cheat: negotiate 4-day weeks or a 3-month sabbatical. A surprising number of employers say yes, and 'startup grew 40% during my sabbatical' turns the leap into a step. What shouldn't decide this: burnout alone. Exhaustion is an argument for a holiday; the growth curve is the argument for quitting.
